The H. M. Patel English Medium Schools' Complex, Dharmaj

Dharmaj Village is a living memorial of Late Shri H. M. Patel Sahib, The Legendary Educationist of India. He dreamt of a modern and prosperous independent India through rejuvenation of villages. The H. M. Patel English Medium Schools' Complex, is an esteemed institution with a difference. It is much more than the infrastructure and even the process of teaching. It is a bend of mind, an outlook and an ethos to be savoured. Here, we groom the students rigorously yet through kind and inspiring words. We challenge them to attain high standards by seeding dreams and creating an urge to realize them. In keeping with the values and high traditions of the institution, here, the students learn to love their subjects and to make their teaching as stimulating as possible.

They learn to believe that education does not mean answering questions but questioning the existing answers. They challenge themselves intellectually and emotionally. They learn to ignite a quest for learning as depicted by the famous English poet Lord Alfred Tennyson in his well-known poem Ulysses said, “to follow knowledge like a shining star beyond the utmost bound of human thought.” Like George Bernard Shaw, they are led to believe, “I am not a teacher. Only a fellow traveller to whom you asked the way. I pointed ahead of myself as well as you.”

The students, at The H. M. Patel English Medium Schools’ Complex, have this firm faith that all children have a huge reservoir of untapped potential for achievement, success, happiness and greater prosperity. They learn to open their minds to treasures more scintillating than might be found in Ali Baba’s Cave. Through Seminars, Workshops, Discussions and Various Tests at different levels, the students learn to turn their dreams into vision and then convert their vision into goals. They learn to master the art and moral ethics. As potters, they learn to mould fresh minds into different shapes according to their aptitude and potential. When they pass out from this institute like George Bernard Shaw, they are able to say, “life is no mean candle for me, it is a torch which I must make burn as brightly as I can before passing to others.”

We wish all the students good luck for the new academic year. May this year be filled with happy memories of the past and bright hope for the future!
